Hi there! Thanks for visiting. I’m an arts administrator, sometimes writer, sometimes photographer, born and raised in Queens, NY, to Colombian-born parents. I reside in my native borough with my husband and two children, where we can be found listening to records, looking at art, going for long walks, and escaping to the beach.
With almost 20 years of experience in the visual arts field, I have focused on using digital tools and platforms to make the cultural world accessible to a broad audience. In 2022, I assumed the role of Assistant Director of Digital Content at the Whitney Museum—where I head Digital Content, including strategy, production, website content, social media, digital programs, imaging for temporary exhibitions, video, multimedia such as podcast minisodes, and third party content, specifically Bloomberg Connects.
For eleven years, I was at Public Art Fund, where in my role as Director of Digital Strategies, I oversaw all digital components of the organization, including its website, multimedia initiatives including videos and a podcast, content strategy, social media platforms, digital archives, and worked with the Design Director on overseeing brand identity.
In addition to my experience of working in communications in visual art nonprofits for over fifteen years, I also highlight women in the creative field through freelance writing, having been featured in The Fold Mag and Good Company Magazine.
In 2018, I ran for and won my local election for a seat on the Queens Democratic County Committee and received an award for Hispanic and Latinx Leadership from the New York City Council. In 2020 and 2022, I was honored to win a seat on the committee again. In 2023, I was elected to the board of ArtTable, the foremost professional organization dedicated to advancing the leadership of women and nonbinary professionals in the visual arts.
Previously, I was at the Queens Museum, where, among other things, I spearheaded the creation of their social media campaign at the beginnings of museum participation on those platforms. I attended SUNY New Paltz, where I received a bachelor’s degree in Art Education with a concentration in Photography, followed by Pratt Institute, where I received a master’s degree in Arts & Cultural Management. As a teenager, I was lucky to attend NYC's LaGuardia High School for Art & Music & Performing Arts.
